LASER DENTISTRY

Laser Dentistry

We are excited to be able to offer laser dentistry to help you achieve your oral health goals. Laser Dentistry is one of the latest technological advances in oral care. Using a narrow, precise beam of light energy, laser technology allows our dentists to treat a wide range of dental conditions like cold sores, as well as removing or shaping hard and soft tissues for a variety of dental procedures. We also use laser dentistry in surgery to cut tissue leading to a reduced recovery time and minimal pain. We are proud to offer this wonderful dental technology.

Dental Lasers are used for:

  • Smile Enhancement – the laser can reshape gums, removing any excess tissue to create a beautiful smile. A common concern is a “gummy” smile. Patients are often self-conscious when they feel their teeth seem too short and their gums are too big.

  • Relieving Pain from Cold Sores – the laser allows oral tissues to regenerate and heal faster which is beneficial in  relieving pain caused by cold sores or fever blisters.

  • Speech Issues and Gum Recession – laser dentistry can release connections to the tongue that may restrict mobility. Laser frenectomies may also help children who are considered “tongue-tied,” as well as those who suffer speech impediments.

  • Removing Excess Tissue – laser technology can remove oral growths.

Dr. Gritsiv used our Picasso Laser to help reshape this patient’s gums. This patient wanted to enhance their smile by eliminating the appearance of a “gummy smile” and teeth that seemed too small. This smile enhancement was created in one, quick visit by removing excess tissue to create a beautiful smile.

No need for stitches. The laser cauterizes as it is used therefore stiches are often unnecessary.
